park in the middle

The Washington SyCip Park is a refreshing green island in the middle of Legazpi and Gamboa Sts., near Greenbelt 1.

On this huge rock and on two other huge rocks at the other two park entrances, the park's name were hammerred.

One of two gazebos inside the park. Beside this gazebo is a pond populated with kois. Fountains and an artificial waterfall aerates the pond water.

I like walking through this park when I have the time, it somehow gives me the feeling of being transported somewhere far from the city.

Here are some of the pearl, glass, and wire earrings I did. The designs are simple for I'm still a newbie.

Next is an enlarged photo of the dangling pearl earring, in the photo above.

Sorry for the resolution, the photos were taken with an N70, and the light was poor where I took it. Next is a colored glass bracelet. I do sell these bead jewelries at very low prices. The pearl earrings were sold at Ph35.00 each to my officemates, the cultured pearls and swarovzki crystal I used there are real.

And below are the Swarovzki crystals in 10K gold bracelet (price starts at Ph300 up, price depends on th amount of gold and Swarovzki crystals used) and the cultured pearl bracelet (Ph 60.00) that I also did. I usually wrap the jewelries, such as bracelets, I sell in string pouches such as the one in the photo below.

our little Joy

Here, are some photos of Joy with the family last December 2007.

This was taken at the Aviation Security Group-Special Operations Unit HQ at the NAIA compound. My husband took the kids with him to their unit's christmas party.

She was so keen on having that pink Disney princesses bag that she gamely posed for it, of course mama thought of alibi's just so nothing is bought on a whim!

Joy is a typical 3-year old, makulit na malikot and madaldal kahit bulol pa. Noong mas bata pa sya ang tahimik and very shy, she was to me a very fragile kid (even now kahit makulit at malikot na) she would cry whenever her kuya is being makulit. I even considered staying at home so I can take care of her, I was afraid she was not being taken cared (by the yaya) of the way I would want her to be.

I sometimes tell JB to look after his kid sister and not to leave her sister while they are outside. I told him as gently as I could, that some people are not good, that those people sometimes take away kids and make them work for money. My son of course is still young and he forgets some serious talks we've had but he did look after his sister most of the time more so if the yaya is not around. Joy is turning up to be a hardy kid like her brother. My fears after all can be set aside. But, of course nothing's lost in being cautious.
Joy loves to dance the "Marimar," it is the most popular cinenovela on TV's primetime these days.

Macalelon Public Market

From the mananahi we went to the market to check if there's still some fresh fish. Here's the banner for the town's fiesta we missed. It was over when we got there.

We love it when we are in Macalelon, 'coz there fish is not just a bit cheaper the fish there are freshly caught from the sea.

That was the first time JB and Joy watched how a fish is cleaned at the market.

Upon seeing the burger stand, the kids asked if they can each have a burger. Knowing that they may not like all of the ulam at dinner later, I agreed just so they won't go hungry later and then ask for midnight snack! If we were at home, midnight snack is ok, but in Macalelon the stores are closed by 7 or 8 in the evening. My kids really are not that picky, it's just that when it comes to seafood they like fish but they dislike crabs, prawns or shrimps, squids, octuposes, sea shells, etc. They only like fish, be it fried, paksiw, pinangat, inihaw, basta fish.

We took some potshots while we were on the bus to Quezon and here's one of Joy and her Papa.

We arrived at my in-laws' home at around 2-3 in the afternoon. They were happy to see the kids, "ooh, they've grown so fast!""you're taller than your kuya," "you're taller than your ate, you don't look like a 3 year old!" were just some of the cheerful comments we heard of our kids. We'll they've got good genes! Heheheee!

After a bit of rest, we went to the mananahi for Joy's flower girl dress/gown. She was excited then was a bit disappointed when the yellow orange gown was handed to me so we can check if it fits Joy.

Our little girl have this fixation with the color pink. She prefers almost everything in pink. We learned the art of evasive alibis even white lies just so we can make her use not pink things. Were we glad when she acquiesced to wearing the orange gown. We were so relieved, 'coz she didn't like the color at all.

Last December (2007) my family attended the wedding of my husband's paternal cousin, in Macalelon, Quezon. Our kids were excited. It's been so long since we as a family last traveled farther than Metro Manila or Dasma. Besides my daughter is still 3 years old, so she stays mostly at home, while my son is in the 2nd grade at Holy Child Jesus Montessori. Nowadays hubby and I had to synchronize our scheds with that of our son so we can all spend rare bonding times together.

So, we really were glad when my husband was asked by his cousin to let Joy be one of the flower girls and JB to be the ring bearer. Of course, the thought of my kids specially my daughter marching as flower girl and my son as ring bearer made us more excited of the event than our kids!

We took the van ride to Alabang from the Robinson's terminal. The kids were delighted when they saw the Dora and Friends Activity Center (Or was it a hill/mountain? A path winds up a structure made to look like a hill/mountain. The structure was decorated with Dora characters.) I took some shots of them while the van was being filled with passengers.
